In September 2011, Naples resident Janet Cohen gave FGCU a $3 million gift to enhance the university and enrich the college experience. Cohen and her late husband, Harvey, also established a scholarship fund in 2006. In appreciation of their meaningful gifts, FGCU dedicated the student union building to Harvey and Janet Cohen.
